About The 6th Annual BeerHoptacular
BeerHoptacular is a celebration of American craft beer, Chicago beer culture and good (mostly) clean fun. After a brief hiatus, Chicago’s original craft beer fest is back with more beer, more attitude and more… other stuff.
The sixth annual BeerHoptacular will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the awe-inspiring Cinespace Chicago Film Studios. For the sixth time, Chicago craft beer fans will come together to celebrate their love of American beer culture and sample from 75 different breweries.
Located on the west side of downtown Chicago, Cinespace Chicago Film Studios occupies 1.45 million square feet of what was previously the old Ryerson Steel Company. BeerHoptacular will be held in one of their massive studio rooms, a space so big you could fit two football fields inside. When they’re not hosting our glorious festival, Cinespace Chicago specializes in the development, management and operation of studio facilities and is the current filming home of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med.
If it’s not clear already, we really like craft beer. That’s why we’ve gathered over 150 beers from 75 breweries. We’ve done the hard work of picking the beer, now we need help drinking it. With that many options, it’s basically impossible to not find something you’ve never had before. Which is the whole point, right? Learn More
This isn’t one of those beer festivals that puts out a few pretzel necklaces and calls it a day. As far as we’re concerned, if you don’t go big, why go at all? Plus we really like good food. So we asked some of our food truck friends to drive their trucks inside the building, and serve hot and tasty treats throughout the fest. Here’s who will be joining us: Cheesies Pub & Grub, Chicago Pizza Boss, DonerMen, Piko, Roaming Hog, Brew Foods and Dinky Donuts. Learn More
A portion of the proceeds from the 2016 BeerHoptacular will benefit Chicago’s Ignite the Spirit Fund, an incredible organization that supports the Chicago Fire Department by helping to ease the hardship of families of firefighters in need.
Ignite the Spirit has been around since 2003 and has helped over 500 families in need, by donating over a million dollars to ease the hardship of Chicago Fire Department families. They truly understand what it means to give back to the less fortunate, and to be there for people in their darkest moments. The Board Members of Ignite the Spirit would like for you to be aware of the countless efforts that their charity represents, such as community involvement, assisting our brothers and sisters of the Chicago Fire Department, and the passion and commitment to make a difference. Each year, we collaborate with a bad ass artist to design a bad ass, limited edition, one-of-a-kind tshirt that’s only available at BeerHoptacular. This year, we asked Solemn Oath’s Jourdan Gullett to work his mystical powers of unprecedented bad-assery to transform the BeerHoptacular “Barrel Guy” into something darker, stormier, and more… well, bad ass, than ever before.
